9 Leads Terminal Wiring Guide for Dual Voltage Delta Connected AC Induction Motor

As mentioned in our previous article, another variation of the 9 leads AC induction motor aside from the star (wye) configuration is the delta configuration. It is important to take extra precautionary measure to determine first as to which type of internal coil winding the 9 leads motor is configured before attempting any wiring connection and installing power to run the motor.

9 Leads Terminal Wiring Guide for Dual Voltage Star (Wye) Connected AC Induction Motor

It is of utmost importance to firstly understand the internal wiring configuration of a 9 leads AC induction motor before doing the actual wiring connection.  All 9 leads motors are most commonly made for dual voltage application, this means that the motor was manufactured specifically for dual voltage operation which can be connected in either 220 volts or 440 volts configuration.

Internal Wiring Configuration for Dual Voltage Dual Rotation Single Phase Capacitor Start AC Motor

Wiring a 110 or 220 volts split phase capacitor start AC motor to achieve a dual voltage 110 and 220 volts connection and to be able to run the motor in both forward and reverse direction can be achieved by knowing the order and arrangement of its internal coil winding connection and its associated internal electrical components.
